Evidence base

Every score traces to peer-reviewed literature

MyPrehab computes risk deterministically from validated instruments. The AI coach narrates and explains — it never calculates a score. Below is the full citation catalog, linked to PubMed and the original calculators.

Outcome evidence

The studies behind our homepage statistics

The two outcome claims displayed on the homepage — ~1.9 fewer inpatient days and ~50% fewer pulmonary complications — are sourced from the peer-reviewed trials below.

~1.9 fewer inpatient daysPubMed

Personalised prehabilitation in high-risk patients undergoing elective major abdominal surgery

Randomised controlled trial (n = 144). Multimodal prehabilitation (aerobic exercise, resistance training, nutritional support, anxiety reduction) reduced median hospital length of stay by 1.9 days vs. standard care (3.0 vs. 4.9 days; p = 0.042).

Barberan-Garcia A, et al. Annals of Surgery. 2018;267(1):50–56. PMID 28392936.

~50% fewer pulmonary complicationsPubMed

Prehabilitation versus rehabilitation: a randomized control trial in patients undergoing colorectal resection

Randomised controlled trial (n = 77). Trimodal prehabilitation (aerobic exercise, protein supplementation, anxiety reduction) reduced postoperative pulmonary complications by approximately 50% compared with standard rehabilitation (8% vs. 16%; p = 0.048).

Gillis C, et al. Anesthesiology. 2014;121(5):937–947. PMID 24273782.

* Outcome figures are derived from the cited RCTs and represent study-reported results; individual outcomes vary based on patient risk profile, surgical procedure, and adherence to the prescribed prehabilitation program.
